  • To provide volunteer opportunities for the community.
Philosophy
  • To provide a flexible food service that takes in consideration the individual's needs, coping capacity and support network.
  • To respect the client's right to confidentiality.
  • To provide effective liaison with other community support services.
Outcomes
  • That people who are frail aged or disabled can remain in their own home.
  • That carers are supported in their role.
  • That Ku-ring-gai Meals on Wheels operates in an effect, efficient and accountable manner.

Funding for the Service is received through the Home and Community Care Program (HACC), which is administered by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. A Board of Management that consists of three representatives from Ku-ring-gai Council and three representatives from Ku-ring-gai Old People's Welfare Association (KOPWA) runs the Service.

The Service operates a kitchen at Turramurra and a meal distribution center at Gordon. Our volunteers deliver all meals.
